I find it infinitely interesting
that it is recorded in the Bible that when the idol of the pagan god Baal was destroyed it was said that his subjects should not act for him… that the god himself should show his fury and prove his existence (or lack of, which was more the point of the jews at the time) by sending down fires from the heaven. This didn’t happen, obviously. So Baal was declared a false god.  Well, if...
